Say you have "Highest Shield, Highest Armor, Highest HP" regardless of order, it will fire at the enemy with the highest raw health. What happens is that the priorities add to a scoring on each target for the tower, and the tower will fire at the enemy with the highest score in range. NOTE: the order of the priorities doesn't make a difference, nor does having multiples of the same priority. When it's selecting a target it will score every possible target based on all of the priorities you give it and select the highest scoring target. What you set on a tower's priorities tells the tower what is important. Priorities are all combined when deciding a target. What enemy a tower targets also effects how it gains xp. Many towers will perform very differently depending on which enemies they target. Originally posted by do target priorities work/are they important? I just wish there was a "Marked" priority for working with Lookout Towers. "Slowest" will tend to cause focus fire, in the same circumstance (Tower inflicts poison, and you have Creeping Cough). "Fastest" is very useful if you want to convince a bunch of single target towers of the same type to attack different enemies, rather than focus firing, as long as those towers have poison, and you have Creeping Cough (Which makes poison cause slow). Whereas "Near Death" would target the one that has 1 more health, but no shield or armor, because it's closer to actually dying. So if an enemy type has barely any health, but tons of shields and armor, a tower set for "Least Health" will prioritize that target over one with 1 point more health, but no shield or armor. If you want a tower to go after specifically high armor, no shield enemies (Like those blasted missile launching robots), you have to set both Most Armor and Least Shield, really.Īlso "Near Death" is different from "Least Health", because "Least Health" doesn't consider whether the target has any shields or armor.

If you set a tower to Most Shield and Most Armor though, it will go for shielded enemies before armored enemies regardless of what order you put them in. Setting all 3 to "most armor" is pointless, because if there's nothing left in its range with armor, it will default to "progress" anyway, so you might as well only set the first one to "Most Armor" and leave the other two "Progress", the result is the same either way.

if you want ballistas with frost upgrade to only target fastest, then all 3 need to be set to fastest. If you want most armor, least shield, then you need to fill in the 3rd with either most armor or least shield. However if you want them to go for most armor, and most progress only do most armor and leave the other 2 blank. Like if you want someone to go for only most armor, change all 3 to most armor.
